Sri Lanka Visas

Citizens of the following countries need not to apply for ETA and can obtain a visa free of charge on their arrival at the SL port -

• Maldives (30 days, extendable to 150)
• Seychelles (60 days, up to 90 in a single year)
• Singapore (30 days, extendable to 150)

• The applicant must hold a valid ETA eligible passport with at least 6 months validity at the time of travel.
• You must be from an ETA eligible nation.
• Your visit must not exceed the time period of 30 Days in SL territory.
• Produce sufficient fund evidence to support your stay in the nation.
• Have return or onward ticket.
• The traveler must not engage in any kind of employment (paid or unpaid), apart from what is specified in the ETA.

• Sri Lankan citizen.
• Dual citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Children born abroad to Sri Lankan parents with their birth registered in Sri Lanka under section 5 (2) of the Citizenship Act 1948 who are under 21 years of age.
• Passengers transiting to a third country by the same, or through a connecting aircraft within 8 hours of arrival time. Transiting passengers must hold a confirmed return or onward ticket and must not leave the transit lounge.
• Nationals of Maldives and Singapore, travelling for tourism and business purpose for up to 30 days.
• A person issued with a SAARC Visa exemption endorsement on his passport.

• Every visa issued to any foreign national expires at least two months before the date of expiry of the passport of the traveler.
• The validity of your visa is subject to your entry.
• Holding a visa does not entitle you a permission to enter the SL territory, as the entry in the territory depends on the sole discretion of the immigration officer at the port of entry.
• Visa holder must not engage in any activity paid or unpaid, apart from what is specified in the visa.
• Visa holder must leave the nation before his/her visa’s expiry date.
• The Immigration Authority holds full rites, at its absolute discretion, cancel, vary or amend your visa.

• On the expiration date of your visa, which was granted to you.
• If the reason for your visit ends, for which the visa was issued.
• If you fail to fulfill the conditions to which the visa is issued to you.
• If the visa is canceled by the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
• If the Immigration authority finds out that your presence in the nation is not good for the well being of Sri Lanka.

• A Passport valid for 6 months.
• Sri Lanka Visa or ETA.
• Sufficient funds to support yourself during your intended period of stay.
• Confirmed onward/return tickets (if applicable).
• Completed Disembarkation Card.
• Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (if applicable).
